WISH

Qatar Genome Programme members took active roles in preparations for two Forums of the World Innovation Summit on Health (WISH) to be held in Doha in November 2016. The first forum is “Genomics in the Gulf Region and Islamic Ethics” chaired by Dr. Mohammed Ghaly and will address the Islamic perspectives on the ethical management of incidental findings and how they can help develop culturally sensitive guidelines about genomics in the Muslim Arab world. The second Forum is “Precision Medicine” chaired by Dr. Victor Dzau and will recommend how precision medicine can be implemented based on the expertise of those at the forefront of its practice and development.

QGP members participated actively in the drafting of the forum reports that will be discussed at the summit, and will also be setting on the two respective forum panels on the days of the meeting.

The WISH forum reports are usually published in pee-reviewed academic journals, cited in other studies and is regularly presented and distributed to experts and senior leaders around the globe.
